Church in Vancouver
eagerly awaits Ark of the New Covenant
The Ark of the New Covenant is to arrive in the Archdiocese of
Vancouver May 10. St. Mary's Parish in Chilliwack will be the first
parish to host this miniature version of what many visualize Noah's
ark to have looked like.

Special to The B.C. Catholic
These Terrace school children have never seen anything quite like this before. The Ark of the New Covenant pictured above with its carrying poles will arrive in Chilliwack May 10. The monstrance which travels with the ark was blessed by Pope Benedict XVI. |
The wooden ark, the symbol of next year's 49th International
Eucharistic Conference in Quebec, has already been viewed by
thousands of Catholics in many dioceses across the country.
The schedule released by the chancery and first printed three weeks
ago has been updated and is reprinted below. Prospective viewers are
advised to check the Web site of the Vancouver archdiocese,
www.rcav.bc.ca, closer to the pilgrimage date and also to see a
short podcast about the Ark of the New Covenant's unique design and
purpose.
More information is being made available in parish bulletins.
